Portrait (n.): A likeness of a person, especially one showing the face, that is created by a painter or photographer.
That is what a portrait is. Fine photographic portraiture is what I do.
It's true. You really can tell a lot about a person by studying the face. I'm the type who likes to sit at a sidewalk cafe and just watch passersby the entire afternoon. I've always been fascinated by the human face. And for as long as I can remember, I've had a camera in my hand taking photographs, especially of people. It's one of my great passions in life (in addition to my ten, beautiful grandchilren).
I always try to understand the personality of each person or family that I photograph. I try to capture them in natural positions, movements, expressions, looks and gestures. I want the portrait to accurately represent the subject. I want the portait to be real.
Creating a great photographic portrait takes a collorative effort. It takes the cooperation of both photographer and subject to capture the perfect pose, space and time.
I'll do my best to work with you and your family to capture the essence of your personality and characteristics. Together to create a professional photographic portrait that will be treasured for a life time.
